* Tell (5628 ) us therefore , What thinkest (5719 ) thou ? Is it lawful (5748 ) to give (5629 ) tribute unto Caesar , or not ? * But Jesus perceived (5631 ) their wickedness , and said (5627 ), Why tempt ye (5719 ) me , ye hypocrites ? * Shew (5657 ) me the tribute money . And they brought (5656 ) unto him a penny . * And he saith (5719 ) unto them , Whose is this image and superscription ? * They say (5719 ) unto him , Caesars . Then saith he (5719 ) unto them , Render (5628 ) therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesars ; and unto God the things that are Gods .
