* The same day came (5656 ) to him the Sadducees , which say (5723 ) that there is (5750 ) no resurrection , and asked (5656 ) him , * Saying (5723 ), Master , Moses said (5627 ), If a man die (5632 ), having (5723 ) no children , his brother shall marry (5692 ) his wife , and raise up (5692 ) seed unto his brother . * Now there were (5713 ) with us seven brethren : and the first , when he had married a wife (5660 ), deceased (5656 ), and , having (5723 ) no issue , left (5656 ) his wife unto his brother : * Likewise the second also , and the third , unto the seventh . * And last of all the woman died (5627 ) also . * Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be (5704 ) of the seven ? for they all had (5627 ) her . * Jesus answered (5679 ) and said (5627 ) unto them , Ye do err (5744 ), not knowing (5761 ) the scriptures , nor the power of God . * For in the resurrection they neither marry (5719 ), nor are given in marriage (5743 ), but are (5748 ) as the angels of God in heaven . * But as touching the resurrection of the dead , have ye not read (5627 ) that which was spoken (5685 ) unto you by God , saying (5723 ), * I am (5748 ) the God of Abraham , and the God of Isaac , and the God of Jacob ? God is (5748 ) not the God of the dead , but of the living (5723 ).
