* Woe unto you , ye blind guides , which say (5723 ), Whosoever shall swear (5661 ) by the temple , it is (5748 ) nothing ; but whosoever shall swear (5661 ) by the gold of the temple , he is a debtor (5719 )! * Ye fools and blind : for whether is (5748 ) greater , the gold , or the temple that sanctifieth (5723 ) the gold ? * And , Whosoever shall swear (5661 ) by the altar , it is (5748 ) nothing ; but whosoever sweareth (5661 ) by the gift that is upon it , he is guilty (5719 ). * Ye fools and blind : for whether is greater , the gift , or the altar that sanctifieth (5723 ) the gift ? * Whoso therefore shall swear (5660 ) by the altar , sweareth (5719 ) by it , and by all things thereon . * And whoso shall swear (5660 ) by the temple , sweareth (5719 ) by it , and by him that dwelleth (5723 ) therein . * And he that shall swear (5660 ) by heaven , sweareth (5719 ) by the throne of God , and by him that sitteth (5740 ) thereon .
