* Wherefore , behold (5628 ), I send (5719 ) unto you prophets , and wise men , and scribes : and some of them ye shall kill (5692 ) and crucify (5692 ); and some of them shall ye scourge (5692 ) in your synagogues , and persecute (5692 ) them from city to city : * That upon you may come (5632 ) all the righteous blood shed (5746 ) upon the earth , from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias , whom ye slew (5656 ) between the temple and the altar . * Verily I say (5719 ) unto you , All these things shall come (5692 ) upon this generation . * O Jerusalem , Jerusalem , thou that killest (5723 ) the prophets , and stonest (5723 ) them which are sent (5772 ) unto thee , how often would I (5656 ) have gathered thy children together (5629 ), even as a hen gathereth (5719 ) her chickens under her wings , and ye would (5656 ) not !
