* In those days came (5736 ) John the Baptist , preaching (5723 ) in the wilderness of Judaea , * And saying (5723 ), Repent ye (5720 ): for the kingdom of heaven is at hand (5758 ). * For this is he (5748 ) that was spoken (5685 ) of by the prophet Esaias , saying (5723 ), The voice of one crying (5723 ) in the wilderness , Prepare ye (5657 ) the way of the Lord , make (5720 ) his paths straight . * And the same John had (5707 ) his raiment of camels hair , and a leathern girdle about his loins ; and his meat was (5713 ) locusts and wild honey . * Then went out (5711 ) to him Jerusalem , and all Judaea , and all the region round about Jordan , * And were baptized (5712 ) of him in Jordan , confessing (5734 ) their sins .
