* Take heed (5720 ) that ye do (5721 ) not your alms before men , to be seen (5683 ) of them : otherwise ye have (5719 ) no reward of your Father which is in heaven . * Therefore when thou doest (5725 ) thine alms , do not sound a trumpet (5661 ) before thee , as the hypocrites do (5719 ) in the synagogues and in the streets , that they may have glory (5686 ) of men . Verily I say (5719 ) unto you , They have (5719 ) their reward . * But when thou doest (5723 ) alms , let not thy left hand know (5628 ) what thy right hand doeth (5719 ): * That thine alms may be (5753 ) in secret : and thy Father which seeth (5723 ) in secret himself shall reward (5692 ) thee openly .
