* Moreover when ye fast (5725 ), be (5737 ) not , as the hypocrites , of a sad countenance : for they disfigure (5719 ) their faces , that they may appear (5652 ) unto men to fast (5723 ). Verily I say (5719 ) unto you , They have (5719 ) their reward . * But thou , when thou fastest (5723 ), anoint (5669 ) thine head , and wash (5669 ) thy face ; * That thou appear (5652 ) not unto men to fast (5723 ), but unto thy Father which is in secret : and thy Father , which seeth (5723 ) in secret , shall reward (5692 ) thee openly .
