* If there be therefore any consolation in Christ , if any comfort of love , if any fellowship of the Spirit , if any bowels and mercies , * Fulfil ye (5657 ) my joy , that ye be likeminded (5725 ), having (5723 ) the same love , being of one accord , of one mind (5723 ). * Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory ; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem (5740 ) other better than (5723 ) themselves . * Look (5720 ) not every man on his own things , but every man also on the things of others . * Let this mind be (5744 ) in you , which was also in Christ Jesus : * Who , being (5723 ) in the form of God , thought it (5662 ) not robbery to be (5750 ) equal with God : * But made himself of no reputation (5656 ), and took upon him (5631 ) the form of a servant , and was made (5637 ) in the likeness of men : * And being found (5685 ) in fashion as a man , he humbled (5656 ) himself , and became (5637 ) obedient unto death , even the death of the cross . * Wherefore God also hath highly exalted (5656 ) him , and given (5662 ) him a name which is above every name : * That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow (5661 ), of things in heaven , and things in earth , and things under the earth ; * And that every tongue should confess (5672 ) that Jesus Christ is Lord , to the glory of God the Father . * Wherefore , my beloved , as ye have always obeyed (5656 ), not as in my presence only , but now much more in my absence , work out (5737 ) your own salvation with fear and trembling . * For it is (5748 ) God which worketh 5723 ) in you both to will (5721 ) and to do (5721 ) of his good pleasure . * Do (5720 ) all things without murmurings and disputings : * That ye may be (5638 ) blameless and harmless , the sons of God , without rebuke , in the midst of a crooked and perverse (5772 ) nation , among whom ye shine (5743 ) as lights in the world ; * Holding forth (5723 ) the word of life ; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ , that I have not run (5627 ) in vain , neither laboured (5656 ) in vain . * Yea , and if I be offered (5743 ) upon the sacrifice and service of your faith , I joy (5719 ), and rejoice with (5719 ) you all . * For the same cause also do ye joy (5720 ), and rejoice with (5720 ) me . * But I trust (5719 ) in the Lord Jesus to send (5658 ) Timotheus shortly unto you , that I also may be of good comfort (5725 ), when I know (5631 ) your state . * For I have (5719 ) no man likeminded , who will naturally care (5692 ) for your state . * For all seek (5719 ) their own , not the things which are Jesus Christs . * But ye know (5719 ) the proof of him , that , as a son with the father , he hath served (5656 ) with me in the gospel . * Him therefore I hope (5719 ) to send (5658 ) presently , so soon as I shall see (5632 ) how it will go with me . * But I trust (5754 ) in the Lord that I also myself shall come (5695 ) shortly . * Yet I supposed (5662 ) it necessary to send (5658 ) to you Epaphroditus , my brother , and companion in labour , and fellowsoldier , but your messenger , and he that ministered to my wants . * For he (5713 ) longed after (5723 ) you all , and was full of heaviness (5723 ), because that ye had heard (5656 ) that he had been sick (5656 ). * For indeed he was sick (5656 ) nigh unto death : but God had mercy (5656 ) on him ; and not on him only , but on me also , lest I should have (5632 ) sorrow upon sorrow . * I sent (5656 ) him therefore the more carefully , that , when ye see (5631 ) him again , ye may rejoice (5647 ), and that I may be (5753 ) the less sorrowful . * Receive (5737 ) him therefore in the Lord with all gladness ; and hold (5720 ) such in reputation : * Because for the work of Christ he was nigh (5656 ) unto death , not regarding (5666 ) his life , to supply (5661 ) your lack of service toward me .
