* And the fifth angel sounded (5656 ), and I saw (5627 ) a star fall (5761 ) from heaven unto the earth : and to him was given (5681 ) the key of the bottomless pit . * And he opened (5656 ) the bottomless pit ; and there arose (5627 ) a smoke out of the pit , as the smoke of a great furnace ; and the sun and the air were darkened (5681 ) by reason of the smoke of the pit . * And there came (5627 ) out of the smoke locusts upon the earth : and unto them was given (5681 ) power , as the scorpions of the earth have (5719 ) power . * And it was commanded (5681 ) them that they should not hurt (5661 ) the grass of the earth , neither any green thing , neither any tree ; but only those men which have (5719 ) not the seal of God in their foreheads . * And to them it was given (5681 ) that they should not kill (5725 ) them , but that they should be tormented (5686 ) five months : and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion , when he striketh (5661 ) a man . * And in those days shall men seek (5692 ) death , and shall not find (5692 ) it ; and shall desire (5692 ) to die (5629 ), and death shall flee (5695 ) from them . * And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared (5772 ) unto battle ; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold , and their faces were as the faces of men . * And they had (5707 ) hair as the hair of women , and their teeth were (5713 ) as the teeth of lions . * And they had (5707 ) breastplates , as it were breastplates of iron ; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running (5723 ) to battle . * And they had (5719 ) tails like unto scorpions , and there were (5713 ) stings in their tails : and their power was to hurt (5658 ) men five months . * And they had (5719 ) a king over them , which is the angel of the bottomless pit , whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon , but in the Greek tongue hath (5719 ) his name Apollyon . * One woe is past (5627 ); and , behold (5628 ), there come (5736 ) two woes more hereafter . * And the sixth angel sounded (5656 ), and I heard (5656 ) a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God , * Saying (5723 ) to the sixth angel which had (5707 ) the trumpet , Loose (5657 ) the four angels which are bound (5772 ) in the great river Euphrates . * And the four angels were loosed (5681 ), which were prepared (5772 ) for an hour , and a day , and a month , and a year , for to slay (5725 ) the third part of men . * And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand : and I heard (5656 ) the number of them . * And thus I saw (5627 ) the horses in the vision , and them that sat (5740 ) on them , having (5723 ) breastplates of fire , and of jacinth , and brimstone : and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions ; and out of their mouths issued (5736 ) fire and smoke and brimstone . * By these three was the third part of men killed (5681 ), by the fire , and by the smoke , and by the brimstone , which issued (5740 ) out of their mouths . * For their power is (5748 ) (5625 ) (5748 ) in their mouth , and in their tails : for their tails were like unto serpents , and had (5723 ) heads , and with them they do hurt (5719 ). * And the rest of the men which were not killed (5681 ) by these plagues yet repented (5656 ) not of the works of their hands , that they should not worship (5661 ) devils , and idols of gold , and silver , and brass , and stone , and of wood : which neither can (5736 ) see (5721 ), nor hear (5721 ), nor walk (5721 ): * Neither repented they (5656 ) of their murders , nor of their sorceries , nor of their fornication , nor of their thefts .
