* I say (5719 ) then , Hath God cast away (5662 ) his people ? God forbid (5636 ). For I also am (5748 ) an Israelite , of the seed of Abraham , of the tribe of Benjamin . * God hath not cast away (5662 ) his people which he foreknew (5656 ). Wot ye (5758 ) not what the scripture saith (5719 ) of Elias ? how he maketh intercession (5719 ) to God against Israel , saying (5723 ), * Lord , they have killed (5656 ) thy prophets , and digged down (5656 ) thine altars ; and I am left (5681 ) alone , and they seek (5719 ) my life . * But what saith (5719 ) the answer of God unto him ? I have reserved (5627 ) to myself seven thousand men , who have not bowed (5656 ) the knee to the image of Baal . * Even so then at this present time also there is (5754 ) a remnant according to the election of grace . * And if by grace , then is it no more of works : otherwise grace is (5736 ) no more grace . But if it be of works , then is it (5748 ) no more grace : otherwise work is (5748 ) no more work .
