* Whosoever therefore resisteth (5734 ) the power , resisteth (5758 ) the ordinance of God : and they that resist (5761 ) shall receive (5695 ) to themselves damnation . * For rulers are (5748 ) not a terror to good works , but to the evil . Wilt thou (5719 ) then not be afraid (5738 ) of the power ? do (5720 ) that which is good , and thou shalt have (5692 ) praise of the same : * For he is (5748 ) the minister of God to thee for good . But if thou do (5725 ) that which is evil , be afraid (5737 ); for he beareth (5719 ) not the sword in vain : for he is (5748 ) the minister of God , a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth (5723 ) evil . * Wherefore ye must needs be subject (5733 ), not only for wrath , but also for conscience sake . * For for this cause pay ye (5719 ) tribute also : for they are (5748 ) Gods ministers , attending continually (5723 ) upon this very thing . * Render (5628 ) therefore to all their dues : tribute to whom tribute is due ; custom to whom custom ; fear to whom fear ; honour to whom honour .
