1. But thou, O LORD, how long? - The Saint's Hope Deferred:
   
• Walking a mile in a real saints' shoes
  
• "I am weak..." 6:2 (sick)
  
• "My bones are vexed..." 6:2 (tremble, alarmed, agitated)
  
• "My soul is also sore vexed..." 6:3 (vehemently vexed)
  
• "I am weary with my groaning..." 6:6 (gasp, exhausted, tire) (sigh, mourn)
  
• "All the night make I my bed to swim..." 6:6
  
• "I water my couch with my tears..." 6:6
  
• "Mine eye is consumed because of grief..." 6:7 (anger, indignation, provocation)

• Why all this?
  

kjv@Proverbs:13:12 @ Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

• Cause = Enemy provoked / Remedy = LORD / Hope deferred = sick heart
  
• observed in real saints of all ages
  
• on the battlefield in the full heat of battle
  
• Are the modern day saints experiencing this same thing?

5. But thou, O LORD, how long?: (Reprise) 6:3
   
• Encouragement for the troubled saint.
  
• Not to be short sighted to God's manifold purposes.
  
• Receive your own chastisement with humility as HIS mercy.
  
• Receive the enemies insult as natural, to be expected.
  
• Receive the LORD's rebuke of the masses as necessary and potentially cleansing.
  
• Pray for the quick turning of hardened hearts.
  


• Discouragement for the wayward sinner.
  
• The history of the ungodly life preceeds you.
  
• The result historically always the same.
  
• You may believe to have the better calculation and the upperhand.
  
• But God has manifold and eternal purposes.
  


• In all things (even the saint's troubled soul) the ultimate glory belongs to God!
